“An American drone killed my sister and niece – and tore my family apart”
In 2018, Abubakar Dahir Ali’s sister Luul and infant niece Mariam were killed in a US airstrike in Somalia.
The mother and daughter were killed as they ran – Luul clutching Maryam – from the scene of a prior attack. Abubakar and his family have been seeking justice ever since.
Earlier this year, the family became members of VAI. Our lawyers are now helping the family to seek amends from the US – and to have their story heard by the rest of the world.
